HOW WE CHOSE THE 2008 CATEGORIES...

The 2008 music categories have been chosen by research conducted throughout Native America and Canada with a significant percentage of eligible artists in these genres to constitute and support each category.

The Native-E Music Awards® does not wish to discourage artists with creative abilities and vision who express their art in other genres of music not listed here. For that reason, we have created the "Creative Vision" category for all other genres not listed.

Your feedback and interest will help us add more categories each year for other genres. We do not wish to do any artist the injustice by placing them into a category in which they do not fit.

Future categories will be added as our talent base continues to grow and diversify.

The Native-E Music Awards® reserves the right to exclude any category if the category does not receive at least 5 entries. In this case, the artist will have the opportunity to submit to another category or receive a full refund for each song submitted into any excluded category.
NEMA BENEFIT CD

Native-E Music Awards® 2008 Award Winner's Benefit CD.

Winning entries submitted into the Native-E Music Awards® will be featured on a world-wide distributed compilation cd. Distribution is targeted at radio stations (web-based included) all throughout the world. This action is to help our talent gain global exposure and possible air-play.*

The compilation cds will be made available for purchase or download here on the NEMA site, with all proceeds from each sale donated to the National Native American Urban Music Association, a pending non-profit organization.

All proceeds will be used to help with the costs of producing the cds, and to create programs and opportunities for our Native American and Canadian Aboriginal youth and musical talent within the entertainment industry.

*Air-play is entirely up to the Program Directors at each station or site. NEMA has no control in this matter and does not make any guarantees.
