The Early & Middle Years
Al Cocchi began his phenonmenal DJ career in 1997 upon his graduation from Seton Hall Prep, then located in
South Orange, New Jersey. Al often ventured onto Seton Hall's college campus and hung out alot at the college
radio station, WSOU-FM. Al enrolled at Seton Hall University and began college later that year. He quickly
learned the procedures at WSOU and was on the air with his own show a few months later. From there, Al went on to
work at WAVP Cable Radio in Bloomfield, NJ, where he served as program director and asssistant station manager for
three years. In 1983, Al ventured into Cable TV where he produced and hosted his own music show entitled "New Music
Beat" with fellow WAVP DJ, Don "The Rocker" Morgan.
"New Music Beat" featured live performances from local bands at local New Jersey nightclubs. The show later spunoff
into "Video Spotlight" in 1984 and featured both the local bands, as well as, music videos from major celebrity
musicians. That show grew rapidly from just airing on one cable system, to airing on 2 cable systems and viewed in
2 million homes through CTN, when it ended it's run in 1997. Look for it's return on the internet shortly. While
doing the TV show, in 1985, Al was also the nighttime DJ for 1510 AM WRAN Radio.
The Later Years
Having been out of radio for a short time, Al was getting itchy to return. So, in November of 1999, Al created
"Future Now Radio." The station featured new music releases, celebrity interviews and giveaways. Al has recently
resigned as station manager/program director for futurenowradio.com and, with the enourmous help from Jule Carey
(musician, webmaster, and radio program host), and Ralph Moorehead, has created a new and exciting internet
radio station "www.cyberstormradio.com," which will celebrate it's 6 year anniversary on June 2, 2008
