DAVID THE SAINT

Who is David the Saint? What kind of music does he make? Where is he from? Why is he doing this? When did he start? These are all good questions and they will be answered right now. First David the Saint (David Santiago Smith) is very hard to explain in just a short matter of time, he is a very complex individual to say the least.

He has 3 siblings. His mother is of Native American decent (Choctaw). His Father is of African American decent and has never been a part of David's life. David was born in Iowa City and raised in the ways of his mother, in her apartment in a complex called Pheasant Ridge in Iowa City, IA, and his grandmother's house on the west side of Chicago.

David is a passionate spiritual person that loves adventure and craves new challenges daily. David is an active Grass Dancer attending Pow Wows whenever he has a free moment, "Pow Wows are a way to keep me in touch with old friends and make new ones. I dance for the Creator and my ancestors, not to compete."

David is an accomplished artist. He has sold paintings in galleries and to private collectors. He is a passionate spiritual person that loves adventure and craves new challenges daily. David makes a mixture of hip hop, blues, country, tribal and classical music that pierces the soul. Combined with vicious machine gun like delivery and lyrical substance that can be compared to some of the most favorable literary classics. He was born in Iowa City and raised in between his mother’s apartment in a complex called Pheasant Ridge in Iowa City, IA and his grandmother’s house on the West Side of Chicago. Why is he doing this? Why does anyone do anything? A calling, a necessity, a quest to leave a legacy that passes his own mortality. It’s a must to create.

To ask the question when did he start? when did music start? You can love him or hate him, you decide who is David the Saint????
